About the workshop Botanical architecture
We will start off with some botanical theory: what is the botanical definition of a leaf or a flower? And what shapes and geometrical pattern can they take? With this theory in mind, you are going to discover these patterns and shapes in different plants and flowers. This will be helpful and give you guidance with drawing. We will be using pencil on paper. Materials will be provided, including flowers and plant specimen.

Alexandre Paluos
Alexandre is a French student with a great interest for biology. After a Bachelor in France, he completed a master in Jena (Germany) centered around ecology and botany in 2023. He had the occasion to learn about plant identification, as well as their morphology and evolution. His scientific background, in combination with an affinity for drawing, lead him to the Master of scientific illustration in Maastricht- where he can now use his scientific knowledge to draw his subjects more accurately.
